THE LOCATION
VIKASA RETREAT, KOH SAMUI, THAILAND
Located between the popular areas of Chaweng Noi and Lamai beach, Vikasa is tucked away from the main island road with some of the best views that the island has to offer.
The lush spacious grounds offer complete privacy and tranquility for guests to enjoy the facilities in their own time and space.
Guest rooms are spread throughout the property, from the private beach at the bottom to luxury rooms overloooking the infinity pool and tropical gardens.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
Daily singing classes: group sessions and solo singing to explore range, confidence, text work, and emotional expression through song. Led by top vocal coaches and instructors. Sessions are informative, feel good and inspiring. All levels are welcome: pros will be challenged, absolute beginners equally held and led. Everyone with a voice can express and sing.
World-class yoga on tap (optional): held at one of Thailand’s most acclaimed yoga resorts, offering multiple daily classes in stunning open-air studios overlooking the sea. Guests can choose from restorative, vinyasa, yin, or sunrise flow sessions, led by internationally trained teachers.
Breath work, journaling, and meditation: supporting body alignment, breath control, and nervous system balance to deepen vocal freedom and self-connection.
Sound baths, island excursions, and night market adventures: immersing guests in Thai culture and sensory exploration.
A bonding beach bonfire ceremony: celebrating release, connection, and the joy of shared voices under the stars.
Nourishing cuisine: half-board included, with fresh, wholesome meals served by the resort’s renowned kitchen.
Fabulous atmosphere: Guests can enjoy unlimited sunshine, explore the private beach and get deep rest around the infinity pool, surrounded by lush tropical gardens.
This retreat is targeted at singers of all levels. The Singer and the Self ethos is included in every aspect of your singing journey. You are your instrument and your instrument is you. No matter what stage of your journey you are on, we will tailor the classes to support you with your own personal goals.
Daily warm ups
Each class begins with a targeted singing warm up to work on specific areas of your voice, be it high notes, low notes, breathing, alignment, tone and much more.
Daily Masterclasses
The targeted warm ups will get you ready for your main masterclass of the day, each carefully chosen to give you new skills. Masterclasses include Musical theatre and acting through song, contemporary music and finding soul, jazz and vocal freedom, and close harmony. As well as exploring a different genre every day, each class will include tips and techniques to help you grow as singers and to tackle challenges.
Daily solo work/or observation of solo work
Each day will include time for participants to receive 121 feedback. Whether you want to take the mic or whether you want to sit back (with a margarita!) and observe this, it is a valuable chance to see vocal coaching up close and to learn from each other.
Performance
The week will culminate in a safe shared optional performance where we sing our songs from the week and cheer on those who want to take solos, either in numbers we've learnt or singing your own material.

Fly directly to Koh Samui International Airport or book a simple connecting flight from Bangkok (flights every hour. Often cheaper and more convenient from London)
*note: Vikasa is approx 20 mins by taxi from Koh Samui airport. Vikasa will arrange your airport transfer for only £20pp and can simply add this to your resort bill.
WHERE YOU’LL STAY
The beautiful and traditional accommodations and grounds are vast with expansive views out to the ocean from each room/villa.
All rooms have been fitted with mod cons and comforts such as air conditioning, large beds, balcony and are ensuite.

Deposit is non-refundable
Pay in full or start payment plan within 4 weeks of deposit to hold your space. Payment plans can be made in monthly instalments (finishing 8 weeks before the retreat).
Cancellation Policy: Up to 12 weeks before the retreat, 75% refund given, less the deposit and card fees. Up to 8 weeks before the retreat, 50% refund given, less the deposit and card fees. After 8 weeks before the retreat, no refunds can be given.
Insurance Disclaimer:
All retreat participants are required to obtain their own travel insurance, and proof of this must be provided before the retreat begins. Singer & the Self is not a travel provider and accepts no liability for incidents, injuries, losses, or cancellations that may occur during travel or throughout the retreat.
